COMMONWEALTH
vs
Sardis Hart ] Lunatic
This day S C Molloy, Attorney for the Commonwealth, filed an information as follows, to-wit:
To Hon. Thos P Cook, Judge of the Lyon Circuit Court:
I am reliably informed that Sardis Hosh is a person of unsound mind, and a lunatic and therefore ask that a jury be impaneled to pass upon the subject.

Ordered by the Court, That E H James Esq, an Attorney of this Court, be and he is hereby appointed to defend for and on behalf of the person under trial. Sardis Hart
To inquire, etc., comes a jury to-wit: E L Smith, Nelson Cash, B C Freeman, Ed Gray, C C Butt, C L Sexton, U S Cattons, Dock Culp, A Glass, Edwin Smith, John Ray & W?? Bridges
who being duly impaneled and sworn according to law, after hearing the evidence, returned the following verdict, viz: We of the jury find from the evidence that Sardis Hosh is a person of unsound mind and a lunatic; that the unsoundness of mind was caused by lick on head and resides in and is serving time in Penitentiary Eddyville Ky and is about 75 years old; that he was not brought into this State for the purpose of becoming a charge upon the Commonwealth; that he owns nothing known of parents and said Sardis Hart is not capable of laboring either in whole or in part for his support.

wherefore it is adjudged by the Court that said Sardis Hosh is of unsound mind and a lunatic lunatic [sic] and that he be immediately conveyed to the asylum at Hopkinsville Kentucky, and John L Smithis appointed to convey him to said asylum and he is allowed one guard.
