World War I Speaker and Great Web Site

I can't remember if I blogged about this the last time I heard Andy Pouncey speak, but even if I did, it's worth mentioning again. I just got home from our Veteran's Day Seminar at the Tennessee Genealogical Society. Andy Pouncey gave a presentation on World War I, and used his VERY interesting website:

It's worth spending some time to explore.

I talked about finding Military Records. I used mostly Lloyd Bockstruck's section on military records in THE SOURCE. There are SO many records and the records are in SO many different places and the records are stored in so many different ways... I could have talked for hours, but worked hard to limit myself!! We also had a presentation on DNA, and another on Lineage Societies. We usually have about 100 folks at these seminars, but it was an EXTREMELY light turnout. We'll blame it on the wonderful weather. I didn't mind the light turnout, as it gave me time to tryout my new presentation in front of a much smaller crowd - just call me chicken.
